About Us
Purpose
The purpose of the Fairfax County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Volunteer Association (Fairfax CERT Association) is to support the disaster and emergency preparedness, response, and recovery in Fairfax County, VA.
Mission
Our mission is to provide financial and administrative support the Fairfax County CERT Program in leading our community toward preparedness and resiliency from threats and emergencies of all kinds by empowering every individual through education, training, response, and volunteer service.
Goals
The goals of the Association are to support the CERT Program in:
- Developing and sustaining communities of members to fund programs in support of our purpose and mission.
- Educating the people in Fairfax County to prepare themselves, their family, friends, and neighbors for incidents of any type, large or small, to survive and save lives until trained emergency responders arrive.
- Training individuals of the community emergency response team as a ready support resource for Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department during emergencies.
- Exercising incident response capabilities while supporting community events through Volunteer Service as neighbors helping neighbors.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies in our communities with highly-trained CERT members.
